Why do a defensive driving course?
Being a safe driver is about more than simply getting from A to B. You need to be able to anticipate potential hazards and know what to look out for whenever you are using the road. From road disruptions, adverse weather and traffic conditions to distracted drivers, defensive driving techniques are all about having a good understanding of safe driving and applying it whenever you are behind the wheel
The specifics we cover in our course include; but not limited to are
- Basic vehicle dynamics
- Learning the correct systems of car control – seating, vision/mirrors, and steering
- Learn how your vehicle reacts in emergency situations
- Correct braking techniques
- Raising the level of awareness in relation to speed, reaction times and stopping distances
- Learning how your vehicle reacts in emergency situations
- Understanding of how driver attitudes, motivations, and behavior can affect the safety of our roads
- The importance of road worthy tyres
- Road Rules and the introduction of any new rules
- Road rage and cognitive impairments
This course is suitable for:
- Any person who has been asked to do a defensive driving course –on road, or any person who decides to voluntarily undertake a defensive driver course
- Any learner, probationary, or fully licensed driver wanting to change their driving behavior so they can improve their on-road safety.
- Any learner, probationary, or fully licensed driver wanting to reduce their vehicle running costs
- Accident prone drivers/nervous drivers
Upon successful completion, you will be issued a certificate of completion, assessment sheet, and a summary detailing the driving competencies achieved throughout your course.
